In celebration of simple food

Sometimes we get caught up trying to outdo ourselves in the kitchen, especially when we're trying to impress or entertain. Enough herculean feats of cooking, I say! Sometimes you just have to step back and appreciate the way that we really cook - food that is simple, fresh, and delicious.

Really beautiful photos. I agree that simple is often best -- give me a baguette and a hunk of good cheese, and I am a happy girl at dinnertime!

Thanks Katy! The insalata caprese and salmon make me long for summer again - I can't wait until tomatoes are in season and the reds are running again!
